From Skate Parks To The Champions League: Is Adidas x Palace And Juventus The Ultimate Sporting Collab?

What a journey.

From stepping out of Supreme’s shadow and becoming the world’s most hyped skatewear brand, to gracing the manicured lawns of Wimbledon and the backs of the world’s biggest footballing stars – Palace (and in particular its relationship with Adidas) has had a meteoric rise in both the streetwear and public consciousness over the past five years.

With tentative initial steps with simple twists on familiar Adidas cuts like the Adidas Palace Pro.  Tenju and his band of renegades have managed to gain all-access passes to some of the most prestigious brands and dress the world’s biggest stars and now CR7 and his team-mates have joined the movement.

Previously, the legendary collection with Ralph Lauren saw them deliver an even more impactful, appealing – and accessible – offering to streetwear culture than newly-purchased Supreme and famed fashion house Louis Vuitton.

Adidas Originals’ own change in fortunes, undeniably changed irreversibly by Kanye West’s defection from Nike in 2015, has seen their own path forged in one of close collaborations with fashion icons like Pharrell, Nigo’s Human Made, as well as maintaining their high fashion status with Yohji Yamamoto’s iconic Y-3 line and their striking range of Raf Simons footwear.

Nike made waves with Jordan brand x PSG.  Both its match wear and fashion line proved to be a huge success and we expect nothing less for Palace. Making strides onto the big game with a collab this big is a momentous feat for the brand and the team aren’t half bad either.

With rumours circulating of a collaboration with Prada on the cards, the German shoemaker seems to continue to do no wrong…but is this collaboration with Juventus and Palace (due to hit UK and US stores November 8th) the pinnacle of their achievements or a step too far?

Given Juve’s history and current squad, this could be the biggest sporting collab we’ve seen and we want to see more.
