Dubbed the “shoe that started it all”, there’s no denying that the Air Jordan 1 is a certified classic.
Since its debut in 1985 there have been countless styles and colourways of the AJ1 and every year Nike have to make a decision on which ones to retro, collab on and re-design altogether.
It’s not certain just how many will be released in 2020 as it’s a bit too early to call but from the rumours we’ve heard, here are the pick of the bunch so far.
Air Jordan 1 – “Chicago”
Release Date – Feb 2020 or “All-Star Weekend”
If the rumours are true, start queuing or doing whatever you need to do now to get these. Mooted as grails by many, the OG Chicago colourway is legendary and what a perfect weekend to release them on than the NBA all start game which is held in Chicago next year
Air Jordan 1 – “Court Purple”
Release Date – April 2020

Unlike the twin release of the Court Purple and Pine Green colourways recently gone, the 2020 court purple is rumoured to drop the purple toe and leave it white. Whatever the case, premium leathers and a popping colourway also make these a must-have for any collector if released.
Air Jordan 1 – “Royal Toe” / “Game Royal”
Release date – Spring, Early Summer 2020

We’ve already seen these released in a Low version, but there’s no doubting a high version is another level up. Unlike the low’s, we could expect these to be finished in a high-end premium tumbled leather finish make them much more sought after. Serious shoe-porn.
Air Jordan 1 – “Mocha”
Release Date – June 2020

Look familiar? Yup, the colourway is very similar the Cactus Jack 1’s that Travis Scott Collab’d on in both Highs and Low’s this past year. Not surprisingly, they flew off the shelves and are now one of the most sought after 1’s you can buy due to the reverse swoosh.
These, however, share a similar colour palette but the swoosh is the right way round. If the colours are bringing you in and you dig earth tones, these could be a wise investment.
