Louis Vuitton creative director and quotation mark connoisseur Virgil Abloh is set to launch his latest of many collaborations…in IKEA Wembley of all places.
His fifteen-piece interiors collection called MARKERAD includes such stand out items as an eggshell white alarm clock emblazoned with the word “TEMPORARY” on it, and a rug that looks like a giant receipt.
“It’s about elevating the anonymous, everyday icons that we use without noticing. When we put a doorstop on one of the legs of an ordinary chair we create something unexpected – an interruption.”
Virgil Abloh – Creative Director
Those looking to spice up their home will actually have to order tickets online in order to do so – which go on ‘sale’ from October 18th – and will enable access to IKEA stores in Wembley, Croydon and Dublin to purchase items in the collection from November 1st.
Eager resellers must also be aware that each customer is only able to buy five items, and only one rug each. Talk about manufactured scarcity…
With collaborations spanning brands from Evian and Moncler to Champion and Rimowa, Abloh continues to hold the fashion world in the palm of his hand and has fans flocking to his latest wares every time…this is likely to be no different.
