The Grandmaster Chime Ref.6300A broke the record previously held by a Rolex
A charity auction conducted by Christie’s was held in Geneva and played host to some of the rarest timepieces on earth.
Only Watch, is a biennial watch auction comprising 50, one-off luxury timepieces made from the finest watchmakers and horologists. Each watch is auctioned and sold with 99% of the proceeds funding research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
One of the watches featured was a One-off “The Only One” Grandmaster Chime from Patek Philippe and when the gavel struck, it became the most expensive watch of all time. Final Price? A whopping 31 million dollars. The previous record was held by a Rolex Daytona belonging to Paul Newman which sold for $17.75m.
Not only is it a unique 1/1, The watch itself, a ref.6300a hosts over 20 complications. Some of these include:

- an instantaneous perpetual calendar with a four-digit year display

- day/night indicator

- leap-year cycle

- 24-hour and minute subdial.
On top of all of that, the watch itself has two dials and a reversible case making it one the CRISP.iest things we’ve ever seen.
