For its latest outing, GoPro pack in upgrades across the board on its iconic action camera
“More everything” is the tagline for this years release of the new GoPro camera, and on first impressions they really have delivered.
Both the software and hardware have received noticable upgrades which fans will no doubt be itching to try and the form factor had also had a slight facelift.
The one major upgrade on the looks is the front screen. Replacing the usual basic but effective front screen is now a full colour front screen, perfect for those who want to frame selfies and vlog. The rear screen is also slightly larger making menu navigation that much easier than previous models.
The new sensor is now able to deliver resolutions of up to 5k video and push out 2oMP still photos which both include the new “max superview ultra-wide” mode.
The most exciting feature we’re looking to see first hand is the uprated version of ‘Hypersmooth’, GoPro’s revolutionary image stabilisation feature.
GoPro has also eliminated plastic from HERO9 Black’s packaging and added value by packaging the camera in a high-quality travel case that fits additional mounts and accessories.

In terms of pricing, the Hero9 will be available in the UK for a RRP of £429.99 or £329.98 if you’re an existing GoPro subscriber.
Unlike previous releases, on paper the Hero9 really has blown its older variants out of the water. We can’t wait to see it in action.
